Dave Goodman is preparing to file an amicus curiae ("friend of the court") brief (which is commonly referred to as an Amicus Brief) with the United States Supreme Court in support of the petitioners in the consolidated cases of Cutberto Viramontes v. Cook County and Eddie Grant Jr. v. Ronnell Higgins. The Supreme Court granted review and consolidated the cases to consider whether the Second and Fourteenth Amendments protect the right to possess AR-15 platform and similar semiautomatic rifles classified as “Assault Weapons.” Dave’s unique individual set of circumstances position him with relevant significant interest in the issues being decided, and a once in a lifetime opportunity to qualify as an amicus curiae and Brief the United States Supreme Court.
